About these terms
These terms cover the use of this website and the basis on which Moss Men provides quotations and carries out work. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Using this website
The content on this site is provided in good faith and for general information. Prices, timescales and service descriptions are indicative until confirmed in a written quotation. You may not copy, reproduce or republish the content of this site without our written permission.
Quotations
Quotations are free and given without obligation. A quotation is valid for 30 days unless we state otherwise in writing. Quotations are based on the information and access described at the time. If the roof, gutters or access turn out to be materially different from what was described, we will tell you before continuing and agree any change in price with you first.
Booking and cancellation
Work is scheduled by agreement and is weather dependent. If conditions make the work unsafe or would compromise the finish, we will contact you and rearrange at the earliest suitable date. You may cancel or reschedule by giving us reasonable notice. Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises, you have a 14 day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work already carried out.
Access and preparation
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property on the agreed date, including access to the areas around the building needed to set up safely. Please move vehicles and fragile items from the working area. We will protect the ground, beds and paths as part of our normal preparation.
The work
All work is carried out using our waterless method unless we agree otherwise in writing. We will clear fallen moss and debris from the roof, gutters, paths and borders on completion. Roof cleaning improves the appearance and condition of a covering. It is not a repair service, and pre existing defects such as cracked tiles, failed pointing or damaged flashing may become visible once growth is removed. We will tell you about anything we find, but we are not responsible for pre existing damage.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quotation and invoice. Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within 7 days of completion. We may charge statutory interest on late payment under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the customer is a business.
Insurance and liability
Moss Men holds public liability insurance to ten million pounds. A copy of the certificate is available on request. We accept liability for damage caused by our negligence. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any job is limited to the value of that job.
Complaints
If something is not right, contact us on 07551 442228 or at mossmenlondon@gmail.com and we will come and look at it. We aim to acknowledge every complaint within 2 working days and resolve it within 14 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
